Registering & Login

How do I get started on valuespin.com?

You can get started on valuespin.com by Registering. Go to our homepage and click on Signup at the top right. Usernames can only be numbers and letters; no funky characters or spaces are allowed. To register, we only require you to choose a username and password and to have a verified email address. All users must be over the age of 18. You also need to familiarize yourself with our rules in the Terms of Use.


Can I change my username? Can I close my account to start a new one?

Usernames on valuespin.com cannot be changed. We can close the account for you so that you can open a new one, but you will need to use a different email address and none of your information will be carried over. For security reasons usernames and emails can't be reused once they are in our system. Please contact support@ valuespin.com if you would like to close your account.


I can't find the confirmation email, where is it?

Check your junk mail folder. It may have ended up in there. To prevent this in the future, you can add support@ valuespin.com to your address book or safe list. In extreme cases you might have to turn off SPAM filters. If you need to resend the email, click on the link on the right side of the login page.


I can't remember my password, what should I do?

If you cannot remember your password, just click on the "reset password" link on the login page. valuespin.com will send a temporary number that you can use to sign in with. You can change your password back to something you can remember by editing your profile.


How do I close my account?

Please contact support@ valuespin.com to have your account closed.


Why can't I login?

You can't login if your account is not active. When you first registered with valuespin.com, we send you a Confirmation email. This email contains a link that you should click to go the confirmation page – now you are registered!


If you cannot find the email anywhere, you can try the following:

  • Check your junk mail folder.
  • Add support@valuespin.com to your safe list or address book.
  • Turn off your SPAM filters.

You might also be mistyping your password. Make sure CAPS LOCK is off. If you still can't login, you can follow the link on the login page to reset your password.

What is an Avatar?

An avatar is a small square image that shows up when you post in the forums, in conversations, and various other places throughout the site. It adds a visual element to your identity on valuespin.com, complementing your username.


How do I add/upload an Avatar?

Login to valuespin.com and go to Your Profile. Click the browse button to locate the image file on your computer, then make sure to click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.


How do I create my own Avatar?

You can use a variety of image manipulation applications, like Adobe Photoshop or GIMP, to tweak a photo you've taken. Your avatar image should be 75 x 75 pixels in size.


How do I change my password?

If you forgot your password and can't login, follow the link on the login page to reset your password. We'll send you an email (to the address you have on file), which you'll need to reply to. Then we'll send you a new (temporary) password.


If you're able to login to valuespin.com go to Your Profile, and you can change it there by following the onscreen instructions.


I forgot my username and/or password and/or email address, what can I do?

In this case, you'll need to email support@valuespin.com and ask for help. Keep in mind we'll need some way for you to prove ownership of the account, so if you've lost all your information you'll have to register anew.
